More Details

Right out of the box, you can have it do neat stuff. At your command are 10 LEDs, 3 Seven Segmemnt Displays, a Piezo Buzzer and a DB9 connector with 4 external ports to control motors, lights or whatever electronic device you desire.

Some suggested uses would be to show you have new e-mail waiting. How about providing an alert if you are running out of disk space? Or, show the number of new e-mails waiting for you? Set PengAlert up to show if your CPU is running on the hot side. Or how about showing CPU load above a certain level? All of these can be put together in a few minutes.

Complete source code is included, so if you wish you can modify the library of available commands to your own specific needs. Because of the unique CPU used on the board, you can flash update PengAlert with your new code.

Did we mention you can control external devices such as Motors, Lights, Christmas Tree Lights with the 4 external ports available? Just add a transistor and/or relay to turn on your high voltage, high current load devices.
